The Benefits
The proposed development would result in the following benefits:

Creation of up to 40 additional full time and part time permanent jobs in the store with a range of roles available, plus further jobs during the construction period

Increasing the existing range of foodstore provision available to local residents in an accessible location

Enhancing the visual appearance of the area by bringing the site into active use

Providing free short stay customer parking, including accessible, parent & child, and cycle spaces. Two Electric Vehicle charging points will also be installed

A high quality, traditional store design based upon Lidl’s latest format

Retention of trees and planting of 30 new trees
Lidl’s entry-level wages are aligned with those advocated by the Living Wage Foundation, which is above the level recommended by the Government, with hourly pay starting at £9.50 per hour. Lidl does not operate zero hour contracts. Lidl is proud of its training programmes which enable staff to progress their careers within the company.
